SUMMER NATURE DAYS - Mondays-Fridays, 9 am-3 pm

For children from 5 to 11 years old who love the outdoors and wildlife, these popular classes will not only be educational but also a chance to

explore the 150 acres the park offers. We will visit a variety of habitats such as the park's wetlands, fields, and woodlands. Great

environmental program to meet new friends, play games, make crafts, enjoy the Nature Center's organic gardens, cook, and much, much

more.  

TUITION: $150 priority students (Ansonia residents and current family-level FANCI members), $175 all others.

FAMILY ORGANIC GARDENING Fridays through September, 3:30-5 pm

Food Corps member Eileen Garcia and ANC will lead fun, family-friendly activities in our organic garden. Learn about growing a variety of fruits and vegetables. Wear appropriate attire; you might get water and/or soil on your clothing. Closed-toe shoes, please! FREE with the potential to take home some fresh local produce! Please register in advance.

TIPS AND TRICKS TO REDUCING YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT - Sat July 12, 2 pm

Join the green team, Rangers Jess and Mike, to learn how you can reduce your carbon footprint. Did you know that a typical household throws away an estimated 474 pounds of food waste each year? Come and learn how to compost, how to construct an easy home composting system, what you can recycle and how, and alternative methods to help reduce your household waste. MOONSHINE AND FIREFLY NIGHT HIKE Sat July 12, 7:30 pm

Rangers Martin and Mike will follow the wooded paths in the park looking for glowworms in the leaf litter. Conclude with an explosion of beetles in the Lampyridae family, better known as lightning bugs and fireflies. FEE: $1.00 per person. Please register in advance.
